Summer School Schedule
Triad Summer School 2012
For Credit Recovery through Aventa
Triad is offering Summer School to high school students in order to recover credits that were not received during the school year. Students may take a maximum of two courses during the summer to help earn back any missed credits. The first course is $200; after completion of the first course, the student may begin a second course at the discounted rate of $100. These courses are being offered by Triad through the Aventa online classroom. Keep in mind that the grade the student receives, whether passing or failing, will be included in the student grade point average (GPA) at Triad. The deadline to enroll and pay for the first course is Wednesday, June 20, 2012, by 2 PM in the High School office, the summer office will be open from 8am-2pm. Also, Mr. Johnson, Summer School Coordinator, will be available on Monday, June 18th from 10am to noon in the high school to answer any questions related to the online curriculum or summer schedule. Notification of failure for course work for the 2011-2012 school years will be made by mail with the grade card during the week of June 11th.
To be enrolled in the Triad Summer School program, it is also required for the student and parent to attend the Summer Orientation for one hour on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 starting at noon, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. After the initial introduction, if proper progression in their coursework is not noticed, the student will be required to be in lab for each of the remaining weeks. Regardless of student progress, all students will be required to attend lab to complete all unit tests required within the summer school curriculum offered by Aventa because these tests have a required password to access. Keep in mind the lab hours are designed to help the student complete their coursework by the end of the summer term of August 1st. Lab hours are open for all students to attend, especially those without Internet access from home. To better understand the program, please visit the website: http://www.aventalearning.com/
